For 30 years, Spokane’s Unity in the Community festival has celebrated the diversity that makes our city vibrant and strong. Held annually in Riverfront Park, this free, family-friendly event brings people together through cultural performances, educational activities, and inclusive community engagement.
Join us on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Spokane Riverfront Park. Organized by NW Unity and a team of dedicated volunteers, with support from presenting sponsor STCU, the event centers around this year’s theme: “Strength in Community, Power in Diversity.” It’s a day to celebrate what unites us while honoring the unique cultures and traditions that enrich our community.
Over the years, Unity in the Community has provided more than 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, distributed over 300 bicycle helmets, and given away children’s books that reflect the contributions of all Americans, including those whose stories are often overlooked. Once again, children and families are invited to explore the Cultural Villages, where they can take an imaginative trip around the world and even learn a phrase or two in a different language.
This year, Braeden Smith from the Gonzaga University Men’s Basketball Team will join us in advance of the event to help pack school supply bags and will be on-site during the festival to hand out Golden Tickets and sign autographs in the Youth Area.
